Candidate Forum at Chisago Lake Township
Moderated by retired school board member Wade Carlson, this event provided a brief introduction of each candidate, why we’re running, and an overview of our feelings on the bond and levy.
Out and About
in our CL Community
Just over 29 years ago, this guy and I went on our first date on homecoming weekend. Since then, we’ve tackled a lot of goofy projects together. Creating DIY chicken coops. Navigating blocked BWCA portages. Lately, raising three teenagers.
This homecoming weekend, we crisscrossed the district, planting signs in the yard of anyone who reached out and spreading the word that for me - and for us - it’s all about working together to build a brighter future for the kids.

We had so much fun cheering on our team, our band, and our cheerleaders at last night’s game! I passed out a few buttons and fliers while the teachers handed $1 cotton candy to an endless stream of smiling, green-and-gold-wearing kids. It’s always fun to see the community come together on homecoming, and at least the storm held off past halftime!

Many thanks to all who came tonight and all who sent texts and messages of support. We are a busy community! And yet we had a nice turn out, lots of engaged questions, and — I think— all who came left with a sense of excitement and optimism for our schools and our community.
